About EDI

Education Data and Insights (EDI) is a dedicated international education website that delivers market insights, opportunities, resources, and student data to support Australia’s international education sector. It replaces the Market Information Package (MIP) and Study Australia Partner Hub.

Find the latest insights, reports and events tailored to your education sector, with the ability to search through the MIP and EDI news archives.

Market profiles

Benefit from regular market insights delivered by Austrade’s network of over 43 dedicated education staff, located in 36 locations globally.

Explore 30 education market profiles, which include updated market overview information, opportunity analyses by sub-sector and the latest student and visa data from the Australian Department of Education and Department of Home Affairs.

International education data

Download student data files from the Department of Education for analysis in Excel or other data visualisation tools. The files are provided in various formats to enable bespoke analysis and data manipulation. Data downloads have been simplified, reducing duplication of the MIP pivot tables while maintaining the full time series of student data. All downloadable data files are now available in a single location, including the free and subscriber-only pivot tables, university data files and Australia Awards scholarship data.

Explore the latest student data and trends on our interactive data dashboards. We have improved the page load times of our data dashboards (data visualisations) and combined the most relevant and useful charts from the previous MIP Student Data and Market Information dashboards into one single dashboard. We have also made Statistical Area data more visible on the Regional dashboards. International student data for all global education markets can be accessed via our improved international education data pages.

View a comprehensive list of Australian and competitor data sources for international students and student visas.
